With a couple of million trucking jobs, in an industry with a huge turnover ratio of employees every year there is and always has will be, a demand for new truckers. Becoming a trucker is a process that starts with finding a good Trucking school and then studying to pass the CDL Exams. When you get signed up to go to a truck driving school most times they will have you pass the CDL exams right before you go to the CDL training school so your learners permit will not expire before the trucking program is complete. To do this, you are usually scheduled to go to school 30 to 60 days after you have made contact with the CDL truck driver training program to allow you time to study for and pass the Class A CDL test. To prepare you will need to get the CDL study manual for your state at your local DMV or download one off the Department of Motor Vehicles website online. Begin by reading the whole CDL study guide one time. This should give you an idea of the amount of time you will need to learn the material, then focus on one chapter at a time thereafter. After reading the first chapter again, get back online and find a good CDL exam test site that you can use for free. Use the online CDL practice tests you find until you can get a high score on each chapter before moving to the next section of the guide book. This process will ensure that you have learned all of the necessary information needed to pass the CDL Exams at the DMV right before you head off to truck driving school.
